Cubbies (3 & 4 Years Old)
Cubbies are only with the rest of the Awana group for the opening. After this, they have their own schedule which includes play time, learning time, and snack time.
Cubby Schedule:
* Opening Ceremony
* Games
* Snack Time
* Bible Lesson
* Playtime/Handbook Time
* Music
* Closing/Playtime
The first time your little Cubby comes, he/she will get an entrance booklet, “Welcome to Apple Acres”. This booklet typically takes 2 weeks to complete. After finishing this, your Cubby will earn their Cubby Vest as shown in the picture below (but without all of the patches) and move on to the first book which is “AppleSeed”. AppleSeed takes one full Awana year to complete. During this first year, your Cubby can earn the AppleSeed patch, and the Red and Green Apple patches that outline the letter “A”.
During their second year in Cubbies (if they start as a 3 year old and continue participating in Cubbies as a 4 year old), they will again go through the “Welcome to Apple Acres” entrance booklet. After completing this, they will get their HoneyComb book. This year they will have the opportunity to get their HoneyComb patch as well as the Red and Green Apple patches that outline the letter “C”.
Parental Involvement is essential to help your Cubby get the most out of Cubbies. Some sections, the Apple Tree Sections, are designed specifically for you to do at home with your Cubby. Once you do the activity, you can sign and date that you and your Cubby did the activity.

Sparks (K – 2nd Grade)
Sparks is for K through 2nd grade children. The Sparks and the T&T group have the same schedule. If the group becomes large enough, then the Sparks group and the T&T group will have individual game time and handbook time.
The first time your Sparky comes, he/she will get an entrance booklet, “Flight 3:16”. This booklet has six sections which can take 6 weeks to finish, however, can be finished much faster by working at home. After finishing this, your Sparky will earn their Sparky Vest as shown in the picture below (but without all of the patches) and move on to the first book which is “HangGlider”. The goal is to finish the “HangGlider” book in one Awana year or less. During this first year, your Sparky can earn the “HangGlider” patch, and the Red, Blue, and Green Jewels for their HangGlider wings. If, and only if, your Sparky has every section signed off in their book will they receive the book award at the end of the Awana year. Getting the book award is not guaranteed and definitely takes work!
During their second year in Sparks (if they start as a Kindergartner and continue participating in Sparkies as a 1st grader), they will again go through the “Flight 3:16” entrance booklet. After completing this, they will get their WingRunner book (if they finished the HangGlider book the previous year, if not, they will start where they left off). This year they will have the opportunity to get their WingRunner patch as well as the Red, Blue, and Green Jewels for their WingRunner wings.
The 3rd year in Sparkies (2nd Grade), your Sparky again will start with the Flight 3:16 entrance booklet. After finishing this, they will start on their WingRunner book (only if the previous two books have been finished, otherwise they will start where they left off). This year they will have the opportunity to get their SkyStormer patch as well as the Red, Blue, and Green Jewels for their SkyStormer wings.
Parental Involvement is crucial to helping your Sparky succeed. An estimated 15 minutes a day is needed to help your Sparky work on preparing for the next Awana meeting. Most of this will be working on verse memorization.

Truth & Training (T&T) (3 – 6th Grades)
Truth & Training is for 3rd through 6th grade children. The Sparks and the T&T group have the same schedule. If the group becomes large enough, then the Sparks group and the T&T group will have individual game time and handbook time.
The first time your T&T-er comes, he/she will get an entrance booklet, “Start Zone”. This booklet typically takes 2 weeks to complete. After finishing this, your T&T-er will earn their T&T uniform as shown in the picture below and move on to the book of the year. (The book of the year cycles through the 4 books so that every T&T-er if they participate all 4 years will go through each book, however, it might be in a different order than other T&T-ers that started in a different year. All of the T&T-ers work on the same book the same year. (2022 – Evidence of Grace, 2023 – Grace in Action, 2024 – Discovery of Grace, 2025 – Agents of Grace). The goal is to finish a book in one Awana year or less. This, however, is not easy and can be quite challenging. Receiving the book award at the end of the Awana year is a high honor. If, and only if, the clubber has every section signed off in their book will they receive the book award at the end of the Awana year. During the year, your T&T-er can earn Award Emblems for their uniform. At the start of every Awana year, each T&T-er will go through their Start Zone again.
Parental Involvement is crucial to helping your T&T-er succeed. An estimated 15 minutes a day is needed to help your T&T-er work on preparing for the next Awana meeting. Most of this will be working on verse memorization, but also on looking up verses and answering questions pertaining to these verses.
